It was Sarah Kirkpatrick’s idea for BCS to have an Easter Egg Hunt this year after learning that the Bluffton Parks Department had canceled its annual event that the Self Advocates traditionally help with. She assisted with the planning and preparation, including the filling of 400 eggs for the event.

On March 27, as consumers selected eggs hidden around the Rec Room, Sarah was proud that her project was such a success.

“It’s goin’ good,” she said.

Several consumers assisted with the Egg Hunt, including Ronnie who served as greeter; Jennifer Downey, Jenny McDonald and Sophia Estill, who escorted consumers to the egg hunt location; Sarah and Gary Amburgey who kept the eggs stocked; and Jennifer, Jenny, Sophia, Caryn and Sarah, who helped with cleanup.

“Everyone did a great job,” said Chris Thacker, who helped make Sarah’s dream come true. “It was a great turnout!”
